Savage tactics - a new view to character's options in combat

Savage worlds is a great system that translates action descriptions easily into mechanics, but sometimes you just need a bit help when thinking what you want to do, or a cheat to see how to do it. For this purpose, I give you Savage Tactics, a sheet resembling Combat Survival guide, but from a different point of view - concentrating on character strengths.

Chemical container car - paper gaming props for your modern/scifi games

Paper chemical container car

Here's a paper model of a chemical container train car I've used as a prop in my Savage Cyberworld -campaign. Print it on two A4/Letter sheets, on cardstock, 120g paper or something else strudier than standard paper. I haven't added instructions as the model is quite simple, and I didn't see it necessary to add the parts that attach train cars to each other (whatever they are called in English), model worked quite well without them.

Prepainted miniatures for Cyberpunk/Modern: Expanding repertoire - some excellent choises

Heroscape suits, street girls and debithed Bith
Sorry for long delays in my posts series - even worse these pauses are made by the fact that many cool miniatures singles fly off the shelves very fast. Older clix and mage knights are being found again by roleplayers and are selling hot again. It's some time since I started writing this article too, and regrettably many of the items are out at T&T, possibly elsewhere too. It's worth it to look for them though - the ones I'm showing now are really excellent minis for modern/cyberpunk games!

Preparing for Galactica RPG: Prepainted minis & Paper space ships

Dradis alert! Three base stars just jumped in!

Galactica is one of the games I'm planning to run with Savage Worlds in future. It's most likely to be a mini-campaign, consisting of ~5 sessions. As a miniature and prop -fanatic, I've gathered some props for the game already.

Most of the miniatures I'll use in the game will be sames I use in my cyberpunk campaign. Soldiers, men in suits, commoners, they all fit in. I've bought a few cheap clix I'll use as pilots, even if they don't have perfect match for the suit they'll work:

Very simple modelling project: Death Star

Death Star and destroyers

How easy can a modelling project be? Death Star must be the easiest one I've done. Cutting the place for the super laser was perhaps the hardest part, after that I applied dyed filler-paste to the model, carved the center line and painted it. Not the most accurate model but works.

Space station paper model inspired by Babylon 5 Centauri

Babylon 5 Centauri inspired space station paper model

Remember the opening scene of Babylon 5 (not the pilot, the actual series), where Narn fleet attacks a Centauri space station in Ragesh III I was sold the moment I saw that, as it made an immediate connection to my favourite PC game intro - Master of Orion 2.

Master of Orion fan's view to Eclipse

Eclipse game situation on the map

I've now been able to play 2 games of Eclipse, and I can tell it definitely feels like Master of Orion! This game, which is currently #12 on lists of boardgamegeek, is not a board game for everyone, but for those who like it it's really excellent! It may be a bit too heavy to be casual fun game, especially because of it's setup time - but it's still really lightweight to be a game it represents. There are plentys of reviews of the game if you google for such, so I'll mention about the game basics only briefly.
