If you've been reading my posts, you know I've become a huge fan of Gramel and it's Beasts & Barbarians products. When Golden Edition came out, I run to buy the pdf right away. This new 210-paged document gives you mainly two new things: New images (which I like a lot, even if I had a small hope of having color graphics instead B&W), adventure generator, npc collection and a bunch of new monsters.
A while ago I got my hands of Beasts & Barbarians and realized it was a perfect setting for the Sword & Sorcery campaign I was planning. I've had plans to run only small sandbox -using adventures with little or no preparation, so I wasn't first planning to buy this adventure even if GRAmel had became my favourite publisher. But I was curious to see what the Gazetteer -part of the adventure had so soon I realized having bought the pdf and wanted to use the adventures in my game.
High Space briefly, with minor spoilers: An inspiring space/scifi setting that gives you an option of running a long epic story or Traveller -like small adventures. The main story feels a bit like Babylon 5 spiced with some cthulhu/galactica -like elements and unique, 'realistic' style space battles.
So I got Jalizar - City of Thieves just before Christmas in July -sales - which is good for you if you're interested in this great urban setting, as I got my review written when there's still little time to buy it on sale if you hurry. I had to finish this review in a hurry, so I apologise if I've forgotten something
I started collecting DDM just for my roleplaying needs, and after the 1+6 boxes I was hooked - if you've collected anything you know how it goes. Anyway, as many DDM collectors know, there has always been some holes in DDM collection, even if many of them got filled close to the end of the line. To fill these holes, you need to find alternative sources. Horror clix, Heroclix,Star Wars miniatures, Mage Knight and Heroscape are main sources for miniatures I've found.
After the last job, PC's had been getting some cyber and healing. Before they could leave for well-deserved vacation, Ivan got two calls. First, Ivan's police contact called and told Ivan that Italian mafia has put a price on his head (and hindrance was updated to major) - in the last session, the Italians closed with no guns when Ivan & Emanuele turned the confrontation lethal.
Session 2 of Savage Worlds / CyberPunk campaign; a group of friends and their friends have formed a troubleshooting company, hoping to get from low-level guard missions and dirty jobs to high-level corporate gigs. The name of the company is Trouble Inc.
Session played 23.2.2011
Start situation: Characters have rested after their mission in africa, and follow news about recent fusion of two mega corporations, Kenta cyber dynamics and Chimera biotechnics. Conversation in the office's lounge gets heated, and Agnes, Tony and a third employee get out on the street for a cigarette.
Shaper & Maker roleplaying game session logs contain lots of photos about custom miniatures & terrains, info about those, some times game rules and of course, story itself. This is about Savage Worlds campaign that started a few sessions ago.
I've been very busy lately, and even now I haven't been able to read Beasts of the Dominions completely, even if I got it... at least three months ago I believe? But I've read most of it and thought of giving a reviewish of it. To be honest, when reading the book's description when it kicked off at IndieGoGo I wasn't fully convinced if it would have enough substance to the cost. But I've learned to trust the quality of stuff written by Umberto Pignatelli and jumped in, and I'm happy I did so.
