Warriors of Waterdeep is a D&D -themed turn-based mobile battle game, where I among many others satisfy their itch caused by a D&D fly bit.
For a long time, I thought of excercising doesn't concern me and that I don't need to care too much about what I eat – until I went to see the doctor for a routine check and he showed me how wrong I was.
I spent this Easter in France - a few days in Paris and a few in La Rochelle. I thought of writing a few words to those visiting these places and in hope of finding interesting game- related stuff.
There's one movie I'm waiting for this year - Iron Sky. From the makers of Star Wreck (which you can download for free - unlike SW, Iron Sky is a big budget movie), Iron Sky is the most expensive Finnish movie (no, doesn't look like anything Finnish you've seen before, it's a international film like Rare Exports, not anything like Kaurismäki's). The movie premiers in a few days in Berlin and is coming to Finnish theatres in april, and in other locations later.
I've now been able to play 2 games of Eclipse, and I can tell it definitely feels like Master of Orion! This game, which is currently #12 on lists of boardgamegeek, is not a board game for everyone, but for those who like it it's really excellent! It may be a bit too heavy to be casual fun game, especially because of it's setup time - but it's still really lightweight to be a game it represents. There are plentys of reviews of the game if you google for such, so I'll mention about the game basics only briefly.
If you didn't guess it, I'm talking about Eclipse. I don't have the game but my friends have a few so I don't think I'll ever need to buy one, but I might end up buying one - just because. When they become available again , that is - it seems like the first print is sold out here in Finland.
I used to play magic in 90's, but since that I've only played a few random games with my friends' decks. This post gives you a view to the game from a magic player after getting back to the game after a long, long time. While the new rules felt intimidating to me first, they actually make perfect sense and are much simpler. I'll also write a bit about what you should know if you get back after a long break and what should you be getting. I say straight away that currently random packaging puts me completely off, so I'm getting my cards in non-random packs or as singles.
